Event Spaces

A home for conferences, expos and multi-team tours - with their own games, board and privacy circle.

Join an Event, Meet the People In It

Events now have their own space on the platform. Join an open event in one click, or with a code if the organiser set one. Once you are in, you can see everyone else attending, who is organising, and browse their profiles - the Attendees tab works like Discover, so you can send a friend request or follow someone you met.

Games Only Attendees Can See

Games created inside an event can be set visible to event attendees - a circle that is separate from your key and extended networks. Nobody outside the event sees them, and attendees do not become part of your network just because you played together. Event games carry the event name on their card wherever they appear.

A Board for Everything That Is Not a Game

Share a taxi to the airport, organise dinner, post an announcement. Any post can take sign-ups with a limit on spots, and everyone who signs up gets a private thread to sort out the details. Withdraw if your plans change and the others are told, so the free seat does not go to waste.

Your Event, in Your Dashboard

Events you can join appear in the dashboard alongside games, ordered by when they start, and respect your city and date filters. There is a new Events tab in the menu for everything you are attending, plus past events you have been to.

Notifications You Control Per Event

Choose what each event is allowed to tell you about - board posts, new games, sign-ups, role changes - separately for every event you are in, on top of your account-wide email settings. Each event keeps its own unread count on its board.

Organisers and Staff

Organisers run the event and can promote others to help; staff can post as the event, pin notices and moderate the board without being able to change the event itself. Posts made as the event stand out on the board so an announcement does not read like a personal message.

Join Right Up Until the Game Starts

Every game now knows which city it is played in, and keeps time accordingly. A game stays open for join requests until the moment it actually begins locally - no more losing your chance to join a game that hasn't started yet.

The Same Date, Wherever You Are

A game listed for the 15th now reads as the 15th for everyone. Players outside Europe were previously seeing dates a day earlier - on the game page, on the dashboard, in chats and in invitations.

Message Someone from Their Profile

Every profile now has a Message button that opens your conversation with that person, or starts one if you don't have it yet. It respects their privacy settings for who is allowed to message them.

Chat Improvements

The chat list is now ordered by most recent activity, so a conversation moves to the top as soon as a new message arrives. Group and game chats also show their members, so you can see who is in one at a glance.

Watchlist

A new Watchlist section in your Account Center lets you keep an eye on a place you care about.

Watch a City or a Whole Country

Watch a single city, or watch an entire country - it's up to you how wide to cast the net.

Get Notified the Moment a Game Goes Public

We'll let you know whenever someone posts a new public game in a place on your Watchlist - both in the app and by email.

Pause, Change, or Remove Anytime

Pause a watched location to stop notifications, then switch it back on when you're ready. You can also change or remove your watched location at any time.

Cancel a Game the Right Way

Plans change - now your game listing can keep up.

Cancel a Game Listing

Can't host anymore? Hosts can now cancel a game listing directly from the game details page. Cancelled games are immediately removed from the public browse page so no one can request to join, but the listing itself stays reachable for anyone who already has the link, clearly marked as cancelled.

Everyone Stays in the Loop

When a host cancels, every teammate and approved player is automatically notified - in-app, by push, and by email - so no one shows up to a game that's no longer happening. Like every other notification, you can fine-tune how you receive this one from your Account Center.

"Cancelled" Tab in My Games

A new filter on your My Games page shows every cancelled game you're connected to - whether you hosted it, teamed up on it, joined it, or even just had a pending request in - all in one place.

Clearer Calendar View

Cancelled games now show up struck-through in the My Games calendar, so you can spot them at a glance without losing your place in the schedule.

Messaging Improvements

A better, smarter chat experience.

Archive Chats

Keep your inbox tidy by archiving conversations you're done with. Archived chats are tucked away but never deleted - you can restore any of them at any time with one click. A new toggle in the chat list lets you switch between active and archived chats.

Never Miss a Message

A new unread message badge shows your unread message count at a glance. If you're away from the platform, we'll also send you an email when a new message arrives in any of your chats. You can turn this on or off in your notification preferences.

New Type of Notification

You'll now receive an email when someone adds you as a teammate on their game, so you're always in the loop even before you log in.

Complete Design Refresh

We've completely redesigned Escape Network with a fresh, modern look. The new design features our updated brand colors (teal, blue, and yellow), bold typography, and a clean, minimal aesthetic. Every page has been carefully redesigned to provide a more engaging and intuitive experience. From the hero section to the core features showcase, the entire platform now reflects our vibrant escape room community.

Terms of Service

We've published comprehensive Terms of Service that clearly outline how to use Escape Network responsibly. The terms cover account creation, user conduct, game listings, intellectual property, and more. We believe in transparency and want you to understand your rights and responsibilities when using our platform.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. Our new Privacy Policy details exactly how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. We explain what data we gather, why we need it, how we keep it secure, and your rights regarding your data. We're committed to keeping your information safe and giving you control over your privacy.

Pre-Launch Updates

Features that are meant to keep you safe

December 2025

Message Encryption

All messages in chats, join requests, and friend requests are now encrypted. Your private conversations stay private. Encryption happens automatically behind the scenes. You don't need to do anything differently - just chat as usual. Messages are encrypted when sent and decrypted when you view them, with zero impact on your experience. Advanced authentication tags ensure your messages can't be modified or tampered with. If anyone tries to alter encrypted messages, they simply won't decrypt - protecting the integrity of your conversations.

Report a Game Listing

Help us keep the community safe by reporting inappropriate or suspicious game listings. Each game listing now has a "Report this game" button that lets you flag content for review by our admin team. You can provide us with details about the issue and our team will review it promptly, and take action as needed to maintain a safe environment for all users.

Email Notifications

Stay connected even when you're away from the platform.

October 19, 2025

10 Notification Types

Customize alerts for join requests, approved/declined requests, friend requests, friend connections, new followers, games from friends, teammate invitations, and more. Each notification type can be independently configured.

Smart Email Management

Every email includes an unsubscribe link if you change your mind. You can also resubscribe anytime from your notification preferences.

Teammate Feature

Add your team as teammates to help manage your escape room games.
